Armadillos are a major pest to homeowners in Florida. They live in palmetto filled woods, but come out at night to dig holes all over in search of food. If your lawn happens to be near their home, it will become their rooting ground, destroying the beauty you work so hard to achieve. (One more reason I'm glad I no longer have a lawn.)

Nice shot of a really cute animal.   The one that digs up our lawns, especially if there are grubs and such in the soil, is the Skunk, man can they do a job in one night.

Here in Arkansas we call 'em "possum on the half shell". If I had known you wanted some, I could have brought you a truck load when I was in Wyoming this past spring. LOL  They are SOOOOOO destructive!!!>:(

Thanks for all the comments. My hatred for the armadillo has actually diminished quite a lot since I am beyond their capacity for destruction, but I still don't think they are cute. Their most admirable quality, in my opinion, is dumb persistence. A trait I sometimes display. Oh yeah, their sex life must be off the wall. Not one of my traits, I'm afraid.
Skunks are definitely worse, as they can destroy a lawn and smell up the neighborhood. In NJ, woodchucks were a nemesis. I guess every place has something akin to the armadillo.

Eeeew they remind me of Pill Bugs I have in my basement. Yuck.
So are they mean things like Racoons or are they just like a rodent and don't care?

Christopher, they're not mean at all. However, they're not the smartest critters on the planet.
Hubby and I went to visit my parents in Texas a few years ago. Driving down the country road, we spotted one that was roadkill. It was on its back, and someone had put a Lone Star beer bottle in its front paws, so it looked like it was passed out drunk.
Unfortunately, I didn't have my camera at the time.
