Winter hoverfly - about 10mm body length- think it's Platycheirus sp.

Those eyes are awesome.
Do you use a small tripod?
Correct me if I'm wrong...but....with macro lenses, are they as sensitive with any camera/environment movement like long lenses?

ID correction to Meliscaeva auricollis.
babuszka - yes macro lenses are sensitive to movement rather like telephotos but at least with macro we have the opportunity to use flash duration as the shutter speed. No I dont use a tripod but in These shots I was holding the leaf the bug was on in my left hand and resting the camera lens on the same hand.
