I happened to run across a copy of Many Are Called (http://www.amazon.com/Many-Are-Called-Metropolitan-Museum/dp/0300106173/ref=pd_sim_b_2) once, and loved the photographs in it. Maybe not really "street" photography, but they're all candids taken with a hidden camera of people on the NYC Subway.
