Brought home this lens today and absolutely LOVE it!

Can't imagine a better option for indoor pics in low light.

Just thought I would share...

Yea, I have everything I need but want a 50mm 1.4. They are simple and sharp!

My wife has the 50mm 1.4. I just ordered the 50mm 1.8 along with a 20D. Gotta cut costs somewhere.

The Lens is unreal, the difference in quality between it and the kit lens with the Rebel is out of this world...

Tell me about it symes. The casing is plastic on the 50, but it is almost like the lenses are plastic on the kit lens!

I'm ordering one today.

I've been shooting some live music performance, and have been wrestling with just how I can improve my shots. Guess it was a major brain fart, but I never even thought about the fact that the kit lens is (if I recall) a f/3.5.

I should have it next week...

im on my 2nd one now - and while i do admit it is a cheap feel - quality is very high as far as optics go.

that said, i will be buying a 50mm f/1.4 at some point - i think an 85mm f/1.2 needs to come first though - but one main reason i like the cheapo 50mm f/1.8 is - well its cheap - ive already smashed one to bits... and o well - its $80 to get another

This is all excellent news to my ears, have just ordered a 1.4 version today, for the low light church ceremonies, anybody care to tell me when the spending stops.

I earn , I spend, I earn I spend, I spend, I spend..............

Agreed, great lens for the money - if I lock it at 1.8 in AV mode, often do not need any flash indoors - and of course the Bokeh...
