I took this on a recent trip to the skating rink, thought it looked kinda cool.

Idea is good, but you need to work on your technical skills to truly show what you're intend to capture.

If you want her to remain sharp even though she moves, pan with her, also dial in exposure compensation in camera, shot looks underexposed to me.

Thanks for the tip. I've been trying to make the conversion from snapshots to better photography, and I'm just blundering along, trying to figure it out by trial and error.

It's a wonderful idea - one person still and the rest moving, but an ice-skating rink is rather hard to do this on! Perhaps someone standing at the side waiting while the rest skate by would have kept the single person more still. Also, it seems slightly dark. Minor things, and the light level could also be corrected digitally in photoshop or the like.

Could use a little more light. But you can fix that with Photoshop. Other then that, Neat :)

Nice, I agree with Sgu about the panning, but it's a good photo and you have a few tips how to improve too :)
