I just purchased the EF 85mm f/1.8 lens this afternoon. Haven't had a lot of time to play with it but did get a few of my son taking a bath. Please feel free to critique or criticize

Very good lookin kiddo. My only critique is that it appears that focus is a little off...back in his hairline looks sharper than his eyes...or is my monitor wacky?

It looks like the focus is behind his eyes and in front of his ears. That lens can have a scary shallow DOF at 1.8 from that distance. Probably less than 1/10 of an inch. It is a cute expression but without the eyes popping it's hard to get in to.

I see what you're saying...So far I've only taken about 10 "snapshots". Hopefully this weekend I'll be able to get some in front of the Christmas tree.

Very cute indeed! Certainly made me smile :). I also have to say that I'm not sure that the focus is accurately on the eyes... practice makes perfect, especially with a 1.8 lens. Thanks for sharing.
