I was just wondering if anyone had this lens and the 28-135is that could possibly post some comparison pics, or that could give me a link to a site that compares them?

Thanks;)

Here's a link to an article in German language (http://www.e-fotografija.com/artman/publish/article_304.shtml).

Believe me, you don't really have to understand what is written there, as it is mostly a test of the Canon 70-300 DO, but it also features some pictures and 100% crops of the Tamron 28-300 and the Canon 28-135 IS.

Just click on the links to the sample pictures (below the pictures of the harbour scene).

I might also add that I do not own any of the lenses featured there, so I can't comment on the test.

However, some forum members who have the 28-300 lens have commented that the lens they tested in the review might be a bad copy as 'there is no way it can be *that* crappy' wide open.

Still, it is common knowledge that it is *extremely* difficult to build a 10x zoom lens that performs even somehow close to a mediocre 3x zoom.

Best regards,
Andy

I think i've read an english version of that article somewhere on that site, it might be worth poking about. The pictures are all you really need though.

OK, found it: http://www.e-fotografija.com/artman/publish/article_306.shtml
Good tip, Tim!

I was actually happy to find a German version of the original article (it's a Slovenian site, so was most likely in serbo-croat language when I read it the first time)

Best regards,
Andy
