I wanted to try something new...I made up my daughter( I know she is nine and all the makeup...). I didn't have a model so I used her, I wanted to do a winter Ice princess theme...I put some blue make up on her and lots of glitter...Shot thru a 32" white umbrella at 1/8 setting on my 430 ex.
Honestly, I thought it could make for a cute card....

The Card...

Nine? Damn. She doesn't look 9 with all that do on her.

It's too much... other stuff and not enough photo for me. But, that's probably because I'm sort of a purist at heart... ;)

I don't mind it. I'm just surprised. She looks 16 to me.

tone down the exposure on her face a little bit. Instead of making it overexposed get the detail back in it and make the hue slightly blue. I'd rather see a blue hue than blown highlights.

I actually put a diffused glow on her face...If I take it off it might work...

I am thinking of taking this to series...but with a model model....Something for valentines, spring, summer...like a fairy or something...but mostly head shots...

I don't have a problem with her being the ice princess... Yes.. she looks much older than 9.... but I have a 9-year old too, so I know how that goes. They mature way to soon these days.

The card is a little busy for my liking.. I get where you are going with it.. but sometimes less is okay... or maybe just a little softer.. I'm not sure.

Everyone has a different style... so I never like to impose my ideas on a person. If you like it... that is most important. Because it's your art... and art is the expression of the artist... so never let anyone change your mind if you like it. Know what I mean...?

Thanks...I have it set up on a psd so if I go through and edit some ...I will post it to let you see...But I am getting sick...it might just go out as is....

I really liked the snow flakes brushes I found and went a little crazy with them. :)
