It shows compatible with 5D but is it compatible with the 5DMkII?

Yes, fully compatible. The remote connector and the pin configuration are the same throughout the entire Canon line other than the Digital Rebels, which use a 1/16" (2.5mm) mini phone connector.

Yep, just some added confirmation, both 5D bodies use the same N3 remote shutter release connection.

Interestingly, 5D MkII supports IR RC-1/RC-5 remotes, like entry level models.

The old Elan 7 series supported this remote too, I'm very happy to see it back on the 5D II. I don't know why all Canon models don't support the RC-1, just one of the best little accesories - it's so small you can leave it on your next strap, then you are never without a cable release, period. I used this a ton on my original Drebel/300D.
Also the Elan 7 35mm series supported the Rebel style remote release too.
