As some of you will know I voulenteer my photographic services to a fairly local rescue centre for greyhounds and other sighthounds. It is a year this week since my first visit there and I have now photographed 48 of thier dogs - with a further 6 to do next week!

I am happy to say the owner of the rescue kennels says that they have had more enquiries about the dogs leading to new homes since I have been doing this. Hopefully this is because of an increase in awareness of greyhounds as pets, and I hope my photos have helped that.

This week I have signed up to PBase (great service!) and put gallery up for every dog I have photographed for them... see link below

Here are a couple of the more recent hounds I have photographed.

I am not that much of a pet person, but after seeing picture #3, I can see adopting an animal like that. I applaud you for providing a service that enables God's creations to live fully.

Good work fella !! :)

I want to take #2 (Boris) home. But the missus is allergic to dog hair so I can't :(

Cheers

Wonderful shots, Richard ... really nice ... and a very worthy cause. We obtained our dog (C.J.) from a German Shorthair Pointer rescue. They're not discarded racing dogs, of course, but many people get them and are not equipped to handle their energy level ... or they're gun-shy discarded hunting dogs.

I particularly like your second shot ... so expressive. I've never seen a greyhound with hair like that.

Richard,

great shots!
I really like the picture of Sam, he looks so energetic (and certainly is)!

I also like Boris a lot, but I assume his hair was too long to give him a decent CW value... hard luck

Best regards,
Andy

Great shots, which I'm sure is helping improve adoption rates. You are to be commended for your good work.

Fantastic shots! Anyone who thinks animals are dumb needs to look them in the eyes and spend 5 minutes with them. I know mine are smarter than me, but that's not saying much. :)
The living room shot could be from my house- dogs and toys strewn everywhere.

Sometimes we come home and you can't see the floor, because of all the stuffies all over the floor
