I'm looking for a good reliable tripod and ballhead setup. I'm 6'3"
so I need it to be tall enough. And I prefer Bogen/Manfrotto. If
anybody has any good suggestions let me know.

I use the Manfrotto 055XPROB Pro Tripod with Manfrotto 488RC2 Midi Ball Head and feel this would be more than enough for your height.
It's a very good combo.

Standard response. Manfrotto 055 XPro B and a 488RC2 head.

How much is the Manfrotto 055XPROB Pro Tripod with Manfrotto 488RC2 Midi Ball Head setup you run?

I'm based in the UK, so that combo would be around £180.
I presume your best bet may be a local independent, or somewhere like B&H Photo or Adorama if you're based in the US.

Just got an e-mail offer from Adorama yesterday; they had the 055XPRoB for $150 and the 488RC2 for $110, with free shipping on both. B&H has a similar offer.

That combo (brand new) can easily be found on ebay with a "Buy it now" option. If you use livesearch.com you could possibly knock the price down to around $200 with the cashback.

What camera and lens line up are you planning to use with the Tripod/Ballhead combo?

Just checked Amazon and they have the 055XProb for $150 and 488RC2 for $100 with free shipping. Does this sound like a good/fair deal that I should buy? Not too familiar with tripods.

Yeah, it does. Check, though whether it's Amazon or an "associated merchant". You might have different confidence levels in them.
