Great shot! Maybe crop in a little to get that fisherman out of the image... I love the pose and expression, fantastic!

A tad oof to me also, but one other thing that bugs me is the lack of color in the subjects. No warmth in their skin makes it look like they are dead! Great capture though.

Do you have any more images to share for this session. I love the background, but it is slightly OFF, not terrible, but would have like a faster shutter to get the sharpness.

Hey, was this shot at the park near the Battery in Charleston?

When setting them up in an area, try to keep them in all shade or all light. In this photo you are put in a situation where part of them is lit and most of them is not. Try to take advantage of full of fill flash, especially since you have a 580.
You have a good moment. In the future, zoom with your lens or feet. Vertical can help crop out people out of the frame. Regardless, all the good stuff is from their waists to the heads.
Crop the fisherman in blue out, as he catches enough attention in the background.
If you have photoshop, you can burn in his face and up the levels/curves to bring out them in the photo. You can also lasso around them and use the lens blur to make them stick out.
Best of luck to you. Hope that was useful.
