Dont know what went wrong I am sure its the person holding the camera at fault :o

Here's what I did:

Charged the battery > inserted the battery > Attached the lens > Inserted the Card > Set the dial mode to full auto > Made Changes in the setup to select the pictures to RAW and extended the auto turn off time > focused > waited for the focus confirmtion light > Take the picture > The flash did pop up and took the photographs

On the PC copied the RAW files to HD > and converted and saved as Jpeg

Here are the results!

Please advice what did I do wrong! Thank you.

Fingers in front of the flash? It's not consistent & always top or bottom, so that's my guess.

Yeah, that's my best guess too.

Yep, it would be easy to have your left hand on the lens and have your ring+pinkie fingers splayed in the air a bit.

All you gurus are right I took photos with my hand below the camera and the pictures are perfect :D. Just for the heck of it i tried with my hand above the camera and the same problem existed.

Thank you all for guideing me. Thanks.

Also, disregarding the blocked flash issue, on the aquarium, don't shoot this (or any similar object) "head on". As you can see, the flash bounces right back at you. If possible, shoot at an angle, even a slight one, so the reflection angle changes. Keep shooting!
