I came across these unique metal head and foot markers in a cemetery which dates back to the mid-1800s. I don't recall ever seeing any markers like these even though they were evidently mass produced, as they have a patent date on them. Notice the different motifs on the markers.

Looks like a local blacksmith tried to start a new trend that never really caught off. Very neat shots.

I am a 'fan' of headstones/footstones . . . I have never seen any as such. Thanks for sharing them.

Very nice, I just posted some photos of some headstones today too. I have never seen anything like these before though.

Very interesting. I am actually in this line of business and I've never heard or seen metal headstones before.

Very pretty and unusual. I wouldn't mind one of those, except I wouldn't like the rusting myself if I was to get one. Hmmmm....interesting find. Where did you find these?

I found these in a cemetery beside an old church in Ralph, Arkansas, U.S.A. They just really caught my eye. As I stated in the first post, they have a patent on them, so I assume the maker at least had "intentions" of mass producing them. Ther are several in this particular cemetery.
Thanks to all for your comments. I'm glad you enjoyed the post.
