Hi guys .. a friend of mine requires up to 10 photos from - well - basically any well known place in the world ... Hong Kong Harbor / Disneyland / Eiffel Tower / London Bridge / Iceland glaciers / Canadian rockies / Cambodia temples / China / Japan / India / Russia / Florida etc ... you get the idea, tho not just landmarks .. vineyards etc etc, streets ...
If you think your shots are dynamic/dramatic enough and up to the job, post your best ones in this thread please.
The shots need to be posted by NEW YEAR so you have just TWELVE DAYS to put your shots forward, the selection will be done shortly after. Source camera doesn't matter, Compact or DSLR as long as the shots are really punchy and available at a decent resolution. Standard aspect and panoramas are what's required.
Please PM me with details of how much you would want for them and on what terms so I may present a full list to my client. This could be a terrific breakout opportunity for some well traveled togs on here :) This isn't a competition, enter as many as you like within the posting guidelines of the forum.
Many thanks and Good luck in the selection process.. Bboi.

'' Can you shed some more light on this site "you friend" has ? ''
- See response below.
@ryandunnewold (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/member.php?u=137465)
- They are needed to display on a website to be built in the new year for a Travel Agent in Wakefield. I havent put the contact details up because her inbox would get inundated lol.
I'll put the successful shot owners in direct contact with the person wanting the pics. For the record, there's no commission here, i'm simply doing a friend a favor.
Just wanted to say as well, Thank you to all those who have submitted shots, these are fantastic :) With regards to watermarks - always watermark, no apologies necessary.
There's a rich choice of wonderful shots put forward here, im sure she will want more than she thinks when she sees them. Also for the record, she will be viewing these on my laptop - at no point will I allow anyone to have access to your posted digital files. I don't do the 'can you send them to my email' thing with anyone. That maintains your IP rights and ability to arrange terms.
Really impressive stuff .. keep em coming ..

I have printed out 60 images on high grade photo paper and presented them. From there they goto the web designer who decides what works best with whatever color scheme is in the design. IF any images are selected (bearing in mind other sources are in play also), I will be putting photographers in direct contact with the owner of the travel agent for you to arrange terms of use or sale.
The delay is due to my having had flu since new years, so I missed the meeting on the 8th and presented the images on the 15th, 4 days ago. Please be patient, i'll let you know, as soon as I know, it may not be an instant decision, as I said, it's not a competition.
Thanks all :)

None of this has ever sounded right (why I never submitted). I doubt anyone here gets anything...

So which images have you selected to present?

As I thought from the get go - you guys got hosed...
I mearly posted pictures I already have on my website, and they're all lower quality.

Nobody got 'hosed', and i'd appreciate it if you didn't start stirring the milk.
I emailed her today to see if a decision has been made. These things don't happen overnight; especially when you hand images to a designer. as I stated before, 2x2 inch HQ home printer prints were handed over, not digital images.
Good enough to play with, not good enough to use. I won't tolerate image theft, especially since I myself have had one stolen by a national company which is now going through the motions of damages. IF even I get hosed on this travel website, and images get used, I will post her name and details here for you all to get in touch directly. I anticipate she will do the honorable thing though. Sound fair enough bnlearle ?

No it doesn't. My hunch is that you will never share her website. Fotolia and iStock have EVERY photo posted here for like 2 bucks. Every graphic designer knows about those agencies. I don't have the slightest clue what you'd be doing this for, but it sure doesn't add up, imo. Like I said, you can literally buy web use images - GREAT ones - on fotolia for 1 dollar.
My hunch is that this website will never be shown here.

Whatever dude, go trash someone elses rep - k .. i'll be sticking to my word.

Then why don't you share the website? You know it's good to have a link that could direct people to websites, right? You know photographers travel FAR more than non-photographers, right? You could get your friend more traffic - something that people with websites want.
Share the website. It's better for your friend and for everyone here. Something isn't right. You're getting paid, someone's taking images, you're doing a study on how gullible photographers are and how easy they'll offer up web resolution images... I don't know. But this is not normal.
So again, just share the site ;)

My pleasure ... it isnt a problem, it never was, I just didn't want people flooding her with sales shpeil. I heard back today and am posting snapshots of the mail. Domain details included.
You do realize you look like a complete prat now don't you ... I've been open and honest from the off set and as I said, I stick to my word. Anyone can feel free to observe the site, such as it is, which, it isnt in great shape imho. But I did say is was ''being built'', I did say i'd post the outcome and I did say this was non profit, but a favour for a friend.. if something about that upsets you, maybe you should try to acquire some.
I was asked to supply some photograph options for the site, I came here hoping to help someone make a sale. I have nothing to do with the site build in any way and no connection to whatever company is building it.
You should think twice in future before putting your foot in it. Not everyone puts every shot they ever take onto an image library. I hope you use more common sense next time before you begin throwing around accusations and trying to wind people up on here. This forum is a valuable source of information, skill and images, and an obvious stop for people who want to learn from, and help others.
Stop n think .. k .. it's not too hard. and it saves you showing yourself up. Folks like yourself, stirrers of doubt and descent, who try to kybosh someones attempt to benefit others when a favour is asked, has no place on this forum imho; and you would do well to reassess your place on it.
This wasn't worth the rep hit, or the hassle from idiots like yourself. Next time, yes, i'll use an image library, im sure people on here with thank you accordingly via PM for your helpful suggestion.
So, now that's done with .. anything to say ? an apology perhaps ? I'm sure it would look better to people searching for bobbyearle.com if they saw a gracious apology instead of a bad attitude.

I get nothing but positive PM's here. Too many for me to respond to, in fact. Not a single person PM'd me about me upsetting them with this.
Look, you're doing exactly what I would imagine you'd do. You're getting really emotionally heated about something that you shouldn't be if you've done nothing dodgy. Again, I said I don't know what you're doing. I don't. But what I do know is that this just does NOT make sense. You can literally buy AMAZING photographs of travel on iStock, fotolia, etc. for literally a buck.
The fact that you wouldn't ever share the website until now, you never explained any sort of terms, what payment would be, your friend could buy photos cheaper and with no hassle elsewhere, and this happened ages ago with STILL no end in sight - other than the expected "my friend chose to go a different route..." - well it all just doesn't seem right. That's all. You can get all uppety if you like. I'm not mad at you, or anything. I don't know you. You might be a great guy. But you also might be a great guy who just got loads of websize photographs from many am photographers that will likely never know that their photos are being used by some graphic designers without ever being payed. I just don't know.
What I do know - and what I've been saying this whole time - is that this whole thing is weird. If me thinking that is just out of the question for you, well, I'm sorry ;)

There's nothing 'heated' about it - I'm merely showing you i'm above board. Fair enough you didn't understand the approach, but thats no reason to come on spouting to people that they got hosed ? is it ? where was your evidence of such ? all you had was 'a feeling' - and it turned out to be wrong. Plain and simple. And... I did explain, perhaps you should re-read my post.
There are no hard and fast rules about how people go about obtaining the shots they need... (or say they want then let you down, you think I enjoyed that ? - I can tell you I didnt...)
Like I said though, next time, look before you leap in throwing accusations around like they are going out of fashion.

Actually ..... while i see you point of view .... I don't agree with your approach.
You took the chance. So step up and be a little responsible. Nobody forced you to load any pictures. End of story.
I don't know BBoi any more than you. But until something happens in a bad way - copyright infringement - take it for what it is .... a chance.
Heck - how do i know you didn't take the pictures and use them yourself.
I understand protecting your Intellectual property .... but lets bring a little professionalism into the situation.

I didn't upload photos ;) I didn't ask for photos to be uploaded. I have absolutely no dog in this fight. I don't know what you're wanting me to be responsible for...
What I do know is TONS of graphic designers. This is not the way they find photos. I also know as a photographer that this is not how photographers should get their photos found.
I have NO problem with everyone uploading their photos and being okay with whatever happens. I only pointed out that this whole thing was weird. That's all ;)
