I love those things. Have you ever looked at the magazine Model Railroader in a book store? Amazing shots in them. Many of them look like its sort of a real scene. Great shot!

Every year, Model Railroader has a photo contest. In recent years they've divided it into film and digital but either way the work is quite good, both the modeling and the photography. Every once in a while, the publish articles on model photography that are very useful.

I thought it was going to be a picture from a Hip Hop music video shoot! Darnit. J/k.

Great shot. Kind of reminds me of Mr. Rogers.

Stoneylonesome - This was shot at the WenhamMuseum in Wenham, Mass. They modeled a number of scenes in Wenham and Salem along the local commuter rail line, but I don't know what the scene in this shot was modeled after (if anything). I'm glad that others appreciate this well executed model as much as my grandchildren. BTW, this was shot in RAW mode on a 300D with a Sigma 24-70/2.8 lens at f22 and 2.5 seconds (tripod/timer trigger) with just room lighting. Photoshop was used to eliminate the hot spots from the spot lights and otherwise balance the light levels, otherwise there was no retouching required. It's amazing how well a white card and custom white balance work, even with a mix of fluorescent and tungsten lights.

Very nice . . . I like the data above, it is always nice to learn how a photograph was taken. I just love trains of all sorts and sizes. Thanks.
