The whole reason I picked up a camera was to shoot paintball. It's such a challenge to get a great shot... shooting thru goggles.. while trying not to get your camera or lens shot. But I LOVE IT! Hope you like. These are some of my favs from the past few weeks.

Cool pics! I miss playing paintball. Have you been hit yet with the camera in your hands? I'd be scared to death it was going get broken :D

It takes a photographer with a pair to go out into an environment where people are shooting and take images. Kudos to you! I'd be worried about my gear getting messed up.

It is a ton of fun, I agree with you.
A few look out of focus, but good timing. Keep it up - your images will get drastically better over time.

I've played tournament paintball for about 7 years now and I'm used to getting hit in the hands. I'll tell you this... I'd rather get hit in the hands than have my camera or lens hit. The nice thing is that if you've played (and know what you're doing) you can usually read the game pretty well and avoid troublesome lanes, or more importantly reading bunkers that get a lot of bounces. Nothing like thinking your safe until the game starts... then players lane that snake and all the paint bounces off the pillow right to where you set up! Gotta love it!

Thank my man. I know that the focus isn't there on all of them. I'm upgrading from my Rebel XT to a 40D this weekend. I'm sure that some of the timing will improve. I will hopefully have some better glass soon. We'll see.
Thanks for the comments.

Good shots. I also like to shoot paintball.
My local tourney scene is basically dead though. Oklahomas not a great place.

Greetings Robbo, :)
Welcome to paintball photography and my home here after I was banished from PbNation. This forum is full of some wonderful people with an amazing amount of useful information and I think part of my success is due to what I have learned here.
I heard rumors that you put down your marker and picked up a camera …Great shots BTW
Let me know if you need media passes to the next PSP ;)

Sounds good Gary. I'm sure you'll find me behind a marker again someday. But the economy hurts us all... I'll definitely take you up on the media pass for PSP. We'll see each other out there soon!
Happy Holidays.

True that. Collinseville isnt what it used to be, and PSI has been dead since it opened. I used to dabble in the sport a bit.
Nice shots though, keep it up!

Your images are pretty nice for beginning shooting, but having a background definitely helps you. I like the capture where the paintball in motion has a blur trail, shows the speed behind the shots IMO.
