The 1st thing I did was mount my new camera to the lens. ;)

Needless to say, the battery grip is already pre-ordered.

How did you get that lens to mount to your G6? That's amazing!

It prefers to be described as diminutive.

What the hell? Why is it so small? That about kills its chances of becoming my backup.
Congrats though, great camera.

After some trial pics, it looks like the built-in flash can "see over the lens" all the way down to 28mm. There is a definite shadow at 24mm.

You'll have to ask Canon.
I think the battery grip with give it some heft.

The grip provides the necessary heft to make this set up feel manageable. The grip allows you pinky finger to secure the bottom of the camera on the front, and the palm of you hand by the base of the thumb joint on the back.
At this point, I don't anticipate ever taking the grip off.

Hah, it makes the cam look even smaller.
Someone mind posting a picture of the XT with a 70-200 F/4L?

I like having the ISO, WB, and Metering set up for quick accessibility on the directional keys.
I'm used to the S45 menus; changing to the DrebelXT was not a big deal.
