I have ordered a Kenco 1.4 X Pro300 "DG" for Canon EOS TC from B&H. It is still in transit. There are no specifics listed for it.
I see that there is another 1.4 Pro 300 for Canon listed as well for a little less money.
For some reason I mistakenly selected that DG one.
My question.... Will the "DG" work on a DReb--what is the difference between the two? Do I need to send it back? :o
Thanks for any help!

That TC will work with your Drebel. The DG designation signifies the lens or TC in this case is optimized for digital cameras. A special coating on the lens to reduce chromatic aberration being one of the differences.

Thanks for your reply. :)
I felt sort of stupid when I really looked at the invoice to see what I ordered.
After much digging around on the web, I finally found a little discussion about it. Seems that it is the newer model (hence the higher price).
Thanks again.

I have just ordered the 1.4x and the 2x versions to see which is best ... I'll sell the 1.4 if the 2x works well ... but how have you found your 1.4?

Don't knock 'em til you tried 'em. The Kenko Pro TCs get high marks from many people.

Well, never been one for following the crowd ... at least not without doing some serious research to see why they're heading in a specific direction
I have found lots of people saying good things about these items and am prepared to take the risk, even on the L lens! I have found lots of people saying not so good things about the Canon 2 x and so not prepared to chuck money in that direction just because it's Canon.
The Sigma and Canon 1.4 x are sound and safe buys but expensive, even second hand. Neither has better user feedback that the Kenko Pro's ... and the Kenko 2.0x doesn't seem to suffer the problems of the Canon 2.0x.
Hey, we'll see ... as they're HK impoprts I don't think I'll lose much money on either if I decide quality isn't up to what I want, and so that means that I can try with no risk. No harm done!

Good God!!! L is just a trade name, it is not a religion. Canon's marketing department must have been working overtime on some people.

Wow, I'll order another Kenko if get a spanking like that
UPDATE: They arrived today, 2 days from HK to UK, and good match cosmetically to the white L series. Good build quality. No chance to test as yet, but indoor shots are just as bad/good as the 70-200 on it's own. No AF with the 2x on that lens, but the 1.4 works with AF fine. Will try and do some proper testing this weekend.

The Tamron SP AF teleconverters are white too, and about the same quality as the white Kenko ones.

Ah well,
the Kenko did come :) And I did put it on the L lens.
It is black--but then so is the new RebelXT--so it does look OK.
Auto focus works--fine-- I like it!
Here is a pic with the 100-400 and the Kenko Pro300 DG 1.4 on a rainy day.

From what I've read elsewhere, they are identical with only the brand name changed!

HerderDog,..
I am working on expanding our T-con info sticky...
You can confirm that the Kenko 1.4X Pro300 DG will allow full Autofocus on the 100-400mmL with the Rebel XT?
Without first hand knowledge this has been tough to figure,. I know some T-cons do NOT inform the Camera of the f/stop they rob,.. but I had thought the pro300 T-cons did...
