I am looking for some suggestions: Here is my set up: 20D, 85 prime f 1.8 and 68 mm of extension tubes. I have a metz 45 cl that I can wireless trigger. So I am trying to capture the perfect flake. I don't know much about Macro, I mostly do people. ( and since I have pretty much shot my freinds to death * bad pun I know* I am looking to try some itiy bity small stuff). As of right now I think the only thing I am missing is a shutter relase cable. Also I remember reading some place that I can lock up the mirror so I can't get any camera shake. Does any body remember or know how to do that?
I thank you in advance,
Thuringer!

I am also going to try to capture a flake this winter.
Set custom feature 12 to 1. Press once to raise the shutter and the shutter a second time to capture your picture.

Hi- you wont need to bother with MLU if using flash. I'd try to catch the snowflake on a glass surface - put it vertical and try the flash at an oblique angle to the glass. Use the 85mm with all the tubes camera in manual 1/200th F11 ISO100/200 and try some different flash powers/ flash angles.

I have an empty CD case in the freezer. The back side is matte black. Have camera/lens all set up ready to go on tripod on the porch, run outside and hold case out to catch a flake.
