I got the camera on Tuesday, so I am still new with it.
In "P" mode, it is taking 3 shots at a time, with one press of the button. Not the multiple rapid fire shot function, that is OFF.
Thanks for any help in advance!

Go to page 84 of the user guide. It sounds like you have the bracketing feature on for exposure or focus.

Thanks!
That's it!
There are a lot of functions I am still not sure how or why to use....are there any newbie forums or threads?
The different focus features, the manual focus...I just don't understand how or why to use some of the different choices....

Second that - it will take one at current setting, then one under and then over - Can turn it off in menu settings

I'm still learning mine but what I have been doing is reading the manual, then reading the manual and playing with the camera, taking lots of pictures using a lot of different settings just trying to get familiar with them. It can be a bit overwhelming at first but the more I use it the easier it becomes. Have fun

Thanks.
I think I am most lost with the manual focus. I will continue to read and play.
My first digital was a Kodak DX6340, which I used for about a year, and just sold it to upgrade to the S1. Same megapixels, but the rest of the features/abilities blow it away!

You will be very happy with the S1 - if you experience any difficulties focusing indoors in low light - try hyperfocal settings. I set mine to ISO 50, flash on, manual focus to approx 8ft, f5.6, and no zoom (i.e tele at widest angle setting). Then save this as a custom setting. Voila, everything from about 2 ft to infinity is in focus - snap away!

I use the SI too. I have had the trouble in low light sometimes. I am going to try this!! Thanks.
