I'm only trying to print out onto a sheet of A4 Hahnemuhle Photo Rag paper. 188g.
Mr 4000 says - forbidden from paper tray. Manual feed. OK. How? I've tried stuffing it in deeply as per suggestion then it spits it out and says paper out. Can anyone help before I put a hammer through this contrary machine. I have tried the manual but thats no help.

Try one of the other manual feed slots. The front one for heavy media will probably work.

Ta richpix but how do I get it to go in? In the manual it say you have to put it in the way it usually comes out but I tried that and the rollers are going the wrong way. I know I'm missing something somewhere, can you give me an idiots guide?
What paper setting should I use also for Hahemulhe Paper?

Wendy, I don't own this printer (yet--I'm planning to buy one, hence my interest), so my advice came from some reading online.
From looking at the diagram at the Epson site, it seems the one manual feed slot is above the paper tray, right? I'm not sure it uses the exact same path as the paper that would come from the tray, but I'm just guessing there.
I found someone having a similar problem on another board. Perhaps the advice given them might help you--something to do with turning off a sensor eye:
"the trick I made was to check "off" the items " PAPER SIZE CHECK" and "SHEET SIZE CHECK" or some words similar, in the menu of the printer. This is done with the buttons on the right side of the printer."

And another reference to the sensor here:

I hope this helps.
