A last minute invitation saw me at Oulton Park for a bit of drift action. Very wet, varying light but great fun............

The Oulton "Rally Stage" is a bad place to shoot in summer so you have my deepest sympathy for having to be there in that sort of weather Ant ;)
On an almost connected note, did you take any notice of Palmer's latest attempt to make a complete hash of one of the UK's best Circuits? They've moved the fence back on the inside at the top of Clay Hill (past the bridge) so you can't shoot from almost trackside now.
It wasn't a popular angle but i've got a few decent shots there in times gone by.

Hi Geoff.
The fence has been moved back. Here are some pictures from a few weeks back :)
You can see how much further back it ends up on this one.

New and old gate (look at the amount of room)

Sorry to go off topic.

Cheers Matt. I saw those elsewhere and thought Ant might have an update.
Unless they're doing something with the track at that point i really can' t see the point.

Ah right I see :D
Well me neither but they do seem have made a walkway to druids, a specatator area round t'other side of the rally course and Watertower (entrance to druids) viewable/photographic-able so one in one out it seems.

I wouldn't bet against a fence appearing there. From what i saw from the other pics posted elsewhere you can walk right up to the Armco at that point and i can pretty much guarantee the circuit won't go live in that state.
Apologies to Ant for going O/T but as another Oulton shooter i suspect this will be of interest to him too.

Thanks for the comments everyone, much appreciated
Geoff, the fence is now a good 30ft away from the armco:rolleyes:
Nothing a good set of steps wouldn't sort out though
It's a fast section, which over the years has claimed the lives of a few people
It's a shame but I guess prevention is better than cure. We dont want a speccy or tog getting killed, then Oulton losing it's license

We don't get that choice, unfortuately.
I'd still have a Holden anyway;)
