I'm not either, but for contests I've yet to find the first image where they look like children. What makes it worse is that they soften the skin and sharpen the eyes so much that it's outright hideous.

for contests I've yet to find the first image where they look like childrenThen, frankly, I'd skip that contest. She's a lovely child, I'm sure, somewhere under the face paint, but I'd much rather see the child than this miniature adult.

very pretty eyes. technically pictures is good, with good exposure and skin tones. the eyes are a little too centered. I have my personal strong feelings about children beauty pageants and the way they are run, but I will spare you those views.

I'm sure we're all in agreement. I did a shoot once where I was paid to do some pictures for a car enthusient magazine. I didn't agree with how it went and I wasn't crazy about how they wanted the pictures done.
So I emailed a very well established photographer in New York. He cleared it up fast enough. He said something along the lines of "Sometimes as professionals we have to put our standards and methods aside to be able to please the customer. If they had the artistic values we have, they wouldn't need us."
I don't agree with it, but I'd take a picture of someone's hairy arse if it paid enough. :)
