I think he is referring to the Expedition 4 for under $100 not all 4 bags

I have the Expedition 3. When I first got it, I thought it was a little small. After a few outings, I have come to really love that bag. I assume that the other Expedition bags are similar, but just larger.

Jason, what do you end up putting in the "3"? I too thought it looked a little small in the store, but the "4" looked too large to carry around all the time. Does it fit a body+lens and 4 other lenses. Also, when I tried it at the store with a 20D the dividers seemed extremely stiff and not wanting to give at all when I put in the camera. Have you been able to move them around enough to accomodate everything? Thanks much. CHUCK

Well, at this point, I don't have a whole lot of gear. Just the 20D, kit lens, and 50mm 1.8. I have been able to move the dividers around to make it work just fine with my setup. They give a little more after some use. As for fitting the body+lens as well as 4 other lenses, it probably won't work for you on the "3", but the other larger bags might not have a problem. With my bag, I am hoping that I will be able to fit the 70-200 f4L as well as a nice f2.8 wide angle zoom in there, as well as my other lenses. I don't think there would be much room left after that though.

I really need to buy some more lenses, it's not so much fun having a mostly empty bag. :(

Well I just oredered up the Lowe Pro Micro Trekker 200 from B&H. It may be a little small for all my gear, but I can still take my shoulder bag if I need more. Too much gear will make me top heavy when I'm out on a bike ride. The Tamrac 3 looked a little too small and I didn't like the 4. I hate ordering stuff sight unseen (except online); we'll see when it gets here.

I bought a Tamrac Expedition 3. It seems a bit small but is very nice. I suffer from a disease called Fibromyalgia. It causes pain in my right side and back and I can't carry too much for more than just a few minutes so the 3 is actually just about perfect for me. And, Jason, I'm sure your bag will fill up faster than you can imagine!

I have the Expedition 4 ... it's an outstanding bag and a nice compromise in size (I originally bought a 3 but returned it because I found it to be too small for my needs). Well made!

I have got the new Expedition 5 and a 7 ...... both are very good. The 5 is a good all round bag, the 7 carries everything! They appear well made and are not too heavy. They are cheaper than equivalent Lowepro bags and seem just as good. I have no regrets at all.

I have had another Tamrac bag for a few years and thats still fine - no bust zips or loose stiching ..... hopefully these 2 will be the same!

I seem to recall my Tamrac bag being called "CyberPack 8" ???

Not sure how it fits into this series but it is a backpack capable of holding both bodies, one mounted to a 500mm prime,. most of my lenses and tons of other stuff.

What made it "Cyber" (other than the fact that it's mine) is that it has room for a 15" laptop as well. I have not used this function yet,. but wanted to have the option. In the meantime it came in handy as place to stash contraband (laundry) while traveling ;)

Well, my bag is "FULL"

I just bicked up a 20D, 70-200 2.8 ex hsm, 1.4 tele and another flash. I ordered a mini trekker all weather. My plan is to back both cameras pluss lenses in the mini trekker and my 550ex, sigma 500 super, 2 vivitar 283, lots of 2500 mLh AA's and 15 minute charger in the micro 200.

I have the Lowepro Trekker AWII, which is a backpack with full size hip belt to take the weight off the shoulders, the way a proper backpack should. I've yet to take it out and use it. Just too heavy when fully loaded. I'm still waiting to go on a hike which is the only place I will find is useful. And it doesn't hold nearly as much as they claim. I had my 20D (before I got the 1Ds MKII) with the 70-200 F2.8 IS, down the center, which alone caused the sides of the bag to bulge a bit. Then I placed my 100mm macro on one side with the 28-135, and on the other side my 17-40 and my new 70-300 DO IS, one compartment left over for the flash which barely fit. And this is a large backpack. It is very difficult to zipper.

So, last weekend I went to B&H to buy a sling-type bag. I saw a customer wearing a very nice one. (I also have the Lowepro "photorunner waist pack which is a great case but doesn't hold the 1 series I now have). While my eyes aren't what they used to be, I looked at the label and thought I read "Domke." Nope, I asked him and it was an Adorama brand bag. Apparently, they have one made for them and place their own label on it.

At that point, I found my now favorite bag, the Tamrac Velocity9. It is a sling bag that easily holds my 1Ds MKII with 70-200 F2.8 IS attached, with hood on backwards, two lenses on one side and the flash on the other. If only the strap were a bit longer, it would be perfect. I believe it was $59.00, which I thought was rather cheap.

I own both the Velocity 9 and the Lowepro AWII Trekker (same that you have). I use the Velocity bag when I'm out looking for wildlife shots (it's a pretty handy bag, can be worn on the back or front). When I wear it in front, it doubles as a sort of "shelf" to rest my 20D/Sigma 50-500 on.

I use the Trekker AW II to carry "almost" all my stuff when I'm out hiking. It carries:

-20D
-attached Tamron 28-75
-Sigma 50-500mm (with tripod collar attached)
-Canon 17-40mm "L"
-Canon 50 f/1.8
-Canon 55-200mm
-Kenko extension tubes (set of 3)
-Cokin "P" holder and three ND filters
-six 77-mm filters
-RS80N3 remote and a few small accessories

(all the above fits in the main compartment)

I carry a cleaning kit and a digital album in the pocket.

The backpack has a tripod carrier also.

I have the Lowepro AW Mini Trekker. It's has a good design to help destribute weight to the hips and off your shoulder. But most times I just need something to use for a day hike and that I can easily access my camera without stopping unbuckling the straps, setting the bag down, unzip,.... I was thinking about a sling type or holster/harness design. Does anyone have any suggestion? I usually take a 20D w/16-35"L" attached, 70-200 IS"L", 2x TC, extra battery, and PL.

Sage, as DW and I posted above, the Tamrac Velocity9 is a great sling bag, lightweight and easily carried on one shoulder or slung across the body. Reasonably priced too. And very well made. I especially like the clips that close the top. Much easier than dealing with zippers.

Here is the Adorama sling bag.

Whoooa. Either you pack really good, or I may have purchased to large of a bag. We'll see. :)Actually, if you think that's a lot for a Micro Trekker 200, here's what I have in mine: 20D+grip w/300mm f/4L attached, 6 other lenses (16/2.8 fish, 17/3.5, 50/1.8, 85/1.8, 28-75/2.8, 18-55 EF-S), 580EX, Canon Digital Elph, memory card wallet, cables, telescope adapters, spare battery, and assorted cleaning stuff. It's one amazing little backpack for $60.
