This weekend I got the chans of trying a D30 for some hours. It behaved like a dream compared to my G2. So I have made my mind now, for sure. I will buy a D60 this comming spring (have to save some more money). I just can't wait!!

What did you like about the D30 that you haven't had with the G2?

EVERYTHING, REALLY!!!!
The feeling, the weight, the look, the autofocus, the manual focus (I have huge problem with autofocus on my G2), the pictures, the changeable lenses, the controls (wheels).
The shutter-sound is WONDERFUL!
The camera feels like a REAL camera. And as somebody said: "The G2 feels like a childrens toy compared to the D30/60". I think he is so right about that.
I guess there are very few things that the G2 has and the D60 don't, that I will miss. I'll keep the G2 as a party-camera if I go for the D60.
I'll write Santa a letter right now.. :)

I'm glad that you like the D30! I really like my D60, although I am still getting used to aspects of it's use. I too have a G2; I understand your feelings about the D30/D60s seeming like much more 'serious' pieces of kit! :)

The one thing that I really miss when using the D60 is the 'live' preview, which isn't possible on the D30/D60. I use it all the time when using my G2.
Other than that, the worry about losing or breaking such a relatively expensive camera is the only drawback of the D60; I don't mind using my G2 at parties (where I tend to imbibe rather heavily), but I would not drag my D60 around if I was drinking!
