You have to love it when the touring band brings their own lighting!! The Gov was a pleasure to shoot in tonight and The Panics played so damn well, I had a great time and got some really pleasing results.

You did a good job at capturing the general atmosphere of the gig. MY advice would be to make sure to break out that 70-200 2.8 where you can and get some close up shots of the performers too, especially if you're looking at working with publications more in future.

First of all; pretty nice colours in most of the photos. Me like ;)

Too bad the face of the singer is over-exposed on both #1 and #8.
I really like #5, mostly because of the pretty strange position of the lighting.

But over all it's all a bit static and I don't see a lot of variation in your set. So if there's something to improve first, then I'd suggest you to try to be more variable in your photography.

I agree with the overexposure of the lead singer on shots 1 and 8, but still the set works very well for the most part. I would also agree that it might be nice to try for some close-ups, but if I was going to a bar/concert, I might be reluctant to bring the whole camera bag as well... Big, bulky and I'd have to watch it... So I likely would have just brought the one lens attached to the camera. 4,5 and 7 are my faves of this set. They are great captures of a live concert. Thanks for sharing

thanks for the comments guys. i bring both my 24-70 and 70-200 to all bands i shoot, i think it was just coincidence that the keepers from this set did not include any close ups! (i do shoot close ups - some of midnight juggernauts coming)

#8 is may favorite from the set... Timing on the lighting, and the composition and framing make it more unique.
