DEFINITELY use a polariser! will kill the glare on the leaves so you see the colours and detail properly! Definite win!

These is not an expert opinion but just something that stands out to me. The leaves to the left are soft and could be cropped out. Or if you want to have the flower off center to the right, I think the flower should be facing towards the center of the shot instead of looking away.

You could have moved the green leaf blocking the lower left corner of the flower.

I'm sorry to say it, but it's boring, both in subject and in composition. I could walk into just about any garden in town and see a flower just like it, in a similar setting. Try and get or do something that people don't see every day.

maybe you can try placing the flower on the left side and compose the shot with the darker leaves. this gives more importance to the flower and enchances it my making its color stand out. another is by the use of depth of field by making the flower sharp and everything else soft. here's a sample of mine just to show you what i meant.

The flower looks half dead so maybe taking a picture of a fresh one might turn out better and the leaves look plastic. It is a nice shot though just a few things need to be done to it to take it from nice to great. Nice work.

the flower is a camilla, usually found in older landscaping (or at least where I live), That strain seems to look kind of tired from the moment they open. they look the prettiest to me when they are picked and float in a crystal bowl.

The colors look bland (though that could be the ****ty monitor in the internet cafe I'm in).
Also, get in close!

angle, distance, subject matter... can be improved. Keep shooting. The leaves are intruding to prevent the flower from truly standing out.
