After learning a few more things from comments and tips, as well as figuring out how to use my laptop with live view for finer focusing, I decided to give this another try. I think they turned out way better than my first batch (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=615758)

Those look great :) Perhaps you could use a faster shutter speed, most of your drops have a little motion blur. I see you used a flash on these, so upping the shutter speed to at least 1/160s or 1/200s to freeze the action should not be a problem.

Did you use the same setup as in your first trial?

MUCH better than your first try! I agree that they look a little soft.. but you're definitely improving! :D

Looks good, slightly blurred, also what ISO were you at? They seem a bit grainy on this monitor.

Thanks for the comments/suggestions. All of these were done at f/20, iso 100, 1/60

And yes, I was using pretty much the same setup as the first set, just a different container with some colored paper behind it and the camera lower.
