Does anyone know of any software that will turn a panoramic picture into an interactive quicktime video? The sort that you can use to scroll around a picture.
Call for help on TechTV Canada demonstrated a free program that did this, but at the time I was only partially paying attention and I didnt bother to write down the name of the program, or even the date of the tv show. I searched all over the Canadian and american websites for G4Techtv and I couldnt find it.
I think this program would be rather fun to play with, and possibly even profitable.
Anyone know of any programs *preferably free* that can do this?

Programs like PT GUI and PTAssembler, which are used to create panos from multiple photos, have an option to save in the QT 360 format.
So one way would be to use the to import the pano and the just save the single phot pano to the QT 360 format.

The stitch assist software that shipped with every Canon digital I've ever owned right back to the lowly A20 does just that. Are you a film user, or did you just never check the software that came with your camera?
Certainly saves going and buying something.

He's not talking about regular pano stitches, he's talking about QTVR, like this (http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/pyramid/explore/khufuall.html). Most of the software needed to do this sort of job is not free (http://www.download.com/3120-20_4-0.html?qt=QTVR&tg=dl-20&search.x=0&search.y=0&search=+Go%21+). More QTVR resources at Apple's site (http://www.apple.com/quicktime/qtvr/).

I got photoshop cs, so im not concerned about the stitching together to much. I know elements has a thing to make it easy, so im assuming photoshop cs has something like that. Im just curious how well it would work with a wide angle lens and lens distortion. I know some of the software out there that is meant for this sort of thing can correct for lens distortion, hopefully cs can do it to, hehe.
I found one program that does the quicktime convertion for free, SurroundPhoto. It was a pain to download but once I got it, its pretty easy to do. And the quicktime videos ar not very large either, usually smaller than the original jpg. I turned a 500kb jpg into a 300kb quick time vid and that was in the lower compresssion rate.
So now im wondering if you can add one of those quicktime videos to a dvd or something. Like if a dvd player will let you navigate the picture.

I realise that, but the Canon stitch assist software does let you save files in the quicktime pan and zoom format.
