I'm SCARED - will 580 explode ??

Hi ....I wish to use a 580EX off-camera along with 2 Elinchrom studio flashes.
Trigger for Elinchroms: PC cord to Canon 5D.
Trigger for 580 EX: ST-E2 on 5D hot shoe

1 - Will using both hotshoe and PC circuitry blow up my beloved 5D camera?

2 - are there InfraRed slave triggers that work with pc cords, i.e. can I trigger Elinchroms with the ST-E2 at the same time as the 580 EX ... OR.....if I get an IR slave trigger for the 580 EX will the Elinchrom flash set it off properly?

1. NO, you'll be fine with the strobe PC cord plugged into the PC port of the camera and an ST-E2 sitting on the hotshoe.

2. You can't properly set off an Elinchrom strobe optically with the ST-E2 but you can get an optical slave unit for the 580EX and have it go off when the Elinchrom strobe goes off via a PC sync cable. Or, you can trigger the 580EX II in manual mode via a PC cable and have it trigger the Elinchrom strobe optically.
