I thought this action was kind of neat! It's a free download but you may have to register.

They recommend running it on images in the range of 600px to 1200px, but I ran it on 2 full sized tiffs.
1st shot was run straight.
On the 2nd I played with Filter> Distort & some combinations of Ripple & Wave just to get some idea of what the possibilities were.
