I am new to all this. I thought something like this would fit in nicely. Sometimes I feel stupid asking basic questions. I am also kind of tired preceding everything with "Im a newbie so forgive me if this sounds dumb"
New to the Hobby
If you are new to the hobby and would like to have some personalized attention, this is the forum to post your questions.

The idea's been proposed before, and we haven't implemented it because
There's no such thing as a dumb question
We don't want to see a "newbie" section that may be ignored by the long-time users
We want you to get out and active in the main part of POTN
If you think your question "sounds dumb", we have stickies at the top of all the "how to" forums which will have a lot of answers, and you can also search the forum (if the results are overwhelming, add a couple more words to the search string). If you don't recognize anything from either of those measures as being especially helpful, then go right ahead and ask. We have a policy here that answers (like "Do a search." or "RTFM") that don't offer any productive information aren't allowed, just so novices don't get discouraged. If you see answers like that, by all means http://photography-on-the.net/forum/images/buttons/report.gif report them to us.
I've removed the link to the "Reef Finders" site from your post, since there's a gentleman's agreement among Forum operators about advertising ones forum on another site and leaving it might confuse other members. I think we all know what you're referring to anyway.
