Here are 2 edits of a boat I photographed a few days back. The first is what I would call a "normal" edit and the second has a more "heavy" PP effect. I'd appreciate any comments on which one works best :-)
Thanks for looking!

Beautiful compelling shot. I appreciate the pp you've done with the second one, but honestly I feel the sky looks a bit unreal. The first shot is great though.

2: I like the boat & the ties, but I'd keep the foreground from #1 as it doesn't jump out at you so much. A darker blue sky might be something to try, too.

I really like the first one. The boat and the net almost look too perfect, like time was taken to place everything exactly the right way. Not saying it was, it just looks a little staged. That is some murky looking water. I think the color balance and the composition are all very nice. Maybe take a shot at one more edit, cause I think the second one has some interesting things going on that the first one was lacking, but still, I like the first one.

Thanks all for the feedback - I will definately try a new edit on both images. This is most helpful :-)

#1 for me! #2 doesn't feel "right" to me, but the PP might work for some.
I'm no real pro at giving feedback, but I do what I can.

Agree with PhotosGuy - the foreground in No.2 just seems to dominate too much. I'd be tempted to try a simple curves adjustment on the sky, the mono/grey version does look a bit fake :-)
A nice simple composition that works well IMO
