heya, im new to this forum some of you people might know me from RFUK, as " dragon keeper "
i got a new camera for christmas i got the 450d, and i want to buy a lense that is good for macro, i only have £120 to spend though, what would yous say the best lense would be for that price i have been looking at a few ive been looking at
- Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 DG Macro (Canon AF)
- Sigma 28-300mm f/3.5-6.3 DG Macro (Canon AF)
- Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 DG Macro (Canon AF)

those are probably not true macro lenses in that they do not go to 1:1 What lenses do you own already - you might be better off investing in extension tubes.

how would those lenses work with tubes??? I have a Sigma 75-300 APO macro.

they would work with your 50mm lens to produce magnification up to around x2 - the working distance would be short but personally i'm used to having the subject 3" or less from the front of the lens. Your 430ex would need to be mounted off camera by the side of the lens. I' m not sure about their use with a zoom lens other than you would get nearer the subject with a little more magnification.
Eventually you should seek to buy a 100mm macro lens maybe secondhand for ease of use.

For that price, go a set of kenko tubes. Use them with the lens that you got with the camerea.

Agree with above- get a set of Kenko tubes and use them with the 50mm lens.
