Here's the deal, for some time now, I've been hosting my photos on my site but it's just not working out. The process of uploading the photos (I create a little fancy animated gallery using Jalbum, and then I modify the html webpage and implement it into my site) takes too long for me and I never do it anymore because I'm just too lazy. Additionally, it's not like anyone visits my site, so my crappy photos don't get exposure anyways.

Now I want something quick and easy for me to upload my photos. I like sites such as Flickr because it's quick to upload and you get a lot of exposure from sharing your photos on such a big site. On the flip side, I enjoy owning my personal domain and site just for the sake of being individualistic. Creating a Flickr account would sort of defeat the purpose of having a website.

Or I guess I can find a program that would let me implement a simple, but efficient gallery into my site and one that would allow me to upload with quickness?

Stupid dilemma, but I'm confused.

I think that you need to decide why you want people to visit your site. If your main goal is sales, then I would recommend Exposure Manager. I have been using the for 2 years and I'm very happy. I have my domain through GoDaddy and have it mapped so that when someone enters my address, it brings up my EM site. You could also have your site with the EM site as a page/link. Just remember that YOU need to market your site.

If your goal is to have a site for people to view your photos with the ability to comment on them, I would recommend www.BetterPhoto.com They have both premium and free options available. I only left them when I needed a sales option. they then changed my paid site to a free one with limited space so it's still there.

whats wrong with hosting them on flickr or where ever and then hotlinking the images to your own domain

I love Smugmug and Exposure Manager. I use Smugmug for a personal gallery and a place for friends and family to order from and Exposure Manager for sales and prints for customers.

Take a look at some options for online hosting that does webspace and everything in one. My first recommendation is Zenfolio (www.Zenfolio.com). Then take some time to give SmugMug and or Exposure Manager.

If you want to stay with your current host, take a look at PhotoCart, J Album and or Gallery2. Two of those three are free from what I remember, but I would recommend PhotoCart if you are looking for reliability and security when hosting yourself.
