I've noticed lately that on a lot of threads, I can't get to the bottom or to the next page, without refreshing the page. I was wondering if it might be a problem with this site, or if it's my computer's lack of memory or something. Every once in a while I get this low system memory message, is that related? Anyone know?

Sounds like lack of memory. Try checking what's running for processes. (Best after a reboot without running anything yet.) You might have a lot of unnecessary crap running. Or you might not have enough RAM. With any Windows OS lately it seems like 512MB is a minimum, and more is always better.
Worst case is that you might have some SpyWare or virus. Don't panic yet, though. Try running SpyBot or Ad-Aware and see what they say. It's always a wise thing to do anyway.

Thanks Scottes, I should have mentioned I have an Ibook. I don't have any other programs running, but I only have about 350 megs of Ram, so maybe that is the problem. I didn't think I had to worry about spyware with a Mac, do I?

Well, you might not have programs running that you know about. I don't know Macs too well, but can you open a prompt window and run "ps -ef" or even better "top" ? Those are standard Unix commands but I have no idea if they'll work on an iBook. OS X, right? Otherwise I have no idea how to see what else is running on a Mac.
Spyware is probably not an issue. Well, very most likely not an issue.
350 Megs should certainly be enough, especially if you're not running anything else. It might be worthwhile to try re-installing the web browser, just in case something got corrupted. But it's probably better to wait around until someone who knows Macs comes along... :-)

Just in case, this is a 800mhz G3 with 384megs of ram, with 100mhz bus speed.

382 megs of ram is more then enough to load up a webpage. You should be able to load in excess of 20 pages with that much memory (I could load 15 pages stably on my old 128meg of ram computer).
However thats assuming ur computer is clean. Run some adware and spyware checks and delete all the crap that the net automatically downloads to ur comp. IF you havent reformatted in a long time and havent delete ad/spyware then it could be hogging like 80% of ur memory

Lack of memory should never stop you loading a web page. The computer will use virtual memory and go a bit more slowly, but it should be fine. I'd suspect the connection myself.

I agree! Your computer probably needs cleaned! You would be surprised how much "stuff" will slow your pc down. www.lavasoft.com (http://www.lavasoft.com) Adware SE is a good one. Microsoft alos has a new beta version for spyware out that seems to be pretty good also.
