I got the bug from shooting my brothers football games 3 years ago. This was his senior year and unfortunately they lost in the final four. I was invited to take shots at the finals though for a local up and coming sports magazine. Here are some I got at the game, all are straight off the camera. C&C welcome is anyone has some.

First play of the game 60+ pass play for a TD

In this photo he broke the face mask and took it to the end zone.

Nice captures, I do wish they would hold the big game during the day time. Here is the first TD by Ray Ray in the 1st half.

I was walking my way to the same side you were on, then I saw Ray Ray drop back and saw Andre coming towards me and stop so I got the back part, but the paper is running a 12 shot sequence of the catch.

I like the shots, but I think you should have made the subjects bigger in the frame. There is too much visible around the players on 5, a bit distracting. Also, is it a coincidence that their all horizontal?

gromeo: Thanks, I feel the same on wishing they shot during the day. I assume you're a local photog? I'd love to meet and work with people to learn more skills. I'll be at the Under Armor game, you?

fox: I'd would like the subjects to be bigger as well. I was shooting my 70-200 f/2.8IS obviously at 200 the whole time. It doesn't get me close enough but it's what I have to work with. I've played with cropping a little, but my pictures then show the grain since I shoot at 1600 ISO. Any tips?

Flash, I think I will take that Sunday off, I have the Champs tomorrow, Cap One on the 1st and 2 UCF basketball games on the 3rd, so I will be ready for a day off. The Under Armor looks like another night game :( , have fun and good shooting.
The Citrus Bowl has some good lighting, I usually shoot at iso 1250, ss 500 and 400 in the end zones all at 2.8.

Thanks for the tip, well hopefully we'll meet sometime and we can talk. I looked at some of your other photos from that game and you have great shots! Hopefully I can work my way into those bowl games someday, have fun with those.
