I'm looking to get my hands on a Spyder2. Anyone have one they're not using or would like to rent? I own the software (it's really cheap without hardware) but am in need of software. Thanks.

I wouldn't bother mate, I have 2 identical monitors on identical cards (except one's PCI express and the other is an AGP, both in the same tower unit) . Calibrated them both using Spider Elite and they look nothing like each other.

Are you saying the Spyder doesn't do a good job? I've heard nothing but good about them so far. Thanks.

Well perhaps I have a duff one but how can I trust the calibration if it can't set up two identical systems to look the same? which is the true one?

I got mine a week or so ago, calibrated a brand new Dell several times, in complete darkness, in a room with usual lighting on and it definitely changed the appearance of what is viewed by making it not as bright. The greys seem to have a slight orange hue to them and the more contrast.

I printed a photo (that had a darker appearance on screen, albeit it didn't look that bad) at Wal-Mart just to see how it came out on paper and it looked fine.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to calibrate with this so the greys actually look...well, grey.
