It was a sunny day today, too sunny at times. It was also very cold and I have just about thawed through some 6 hours after the event.

Today was the pre-season practice day at Harewood Hillclimb. It is always a good chance to blow the cobwebs out of my gear and make sure everything is as it should be. All the following images were shot with my 1D MK-II and 300 2.8IS, then processed with RSE.

TVR anyone:

One seat is good enough:

Pretty Lotus:

Can't leave out the Ferrari:

Porche in there too:

Or the Jag:

Peachy work as always Kenny... I had the 'too sunny' experience myself today so I know where you are coming from!

These are all really good, Ken.

Any idea what that formula car is?

I wish i could have one photo, of anything, turn out as nicely as that TVR or ferarri shot.

Top Shots Kenny, the hands and knees approach doesn't really work at Brands, well not behind the fence anyway. :o

Very nice shots Ken, I spent the day in Sherwood forest and the sun proved to be a bit of a problem there too. Really like the look of that Jag

Cheers

Lovely shots.
That's quite a serious look of concentration in the porsche drivers eyes!

Some cracking shots Ken - nice to have met up with you again yesterday. It was bitterly cold - drove the whole way home with the heater on full belt.

Here's a couple of my shots from yesterday (hope you don't mind me posting them on your thread):-

Interested to know how the wide angle panned shots at Chippy's turned out.

Cheers,

Simon.

Ag, at my age I am better off lying down than standing up. The problem is getting from one to the other gracefully. Nice Brands shots by the way. Never thought the 10D would spend so much time there as it has a northern accent you know.

Ian, hope it wasn't as cold as it was up here. I suppose you had trees to shelter you from the wind, which was the biggest problem. It is about time they made better photogs gloves with our northern weather in mind.

Andy, they were all putting full effort in for the last few runs and that Porsche looked really nice on circuit. I much prefer them to the new ladies versions. By the way, is that my friend young Mr Caroline in your avatar? He isn't very good at keeping all 4 wheels on the black stuff at the best of times.

I couldn't resist another shot of the Ferrari and it begs the question - how does he fit in it if he puts the roof on?

And, to finish, a very nice Alpha:

It's car number 20 from Thruxton, Aug 2003. A quick search of the internet shows it to be Pete Osbourne. To be honest I don't think any of the Tuscan drivers like staying stuck to the tarmac ;)

Simon, forgot to show you one of the images from the 1D with 17-40L, 33mm panned at 1/80. Too much sun though.

Nice photos, Kenny.

Great bunch of shots Kenny! LOVE that Jag! It looks "WICKED MEAN". The looks have me wondering now, does it have a SIX, or a V12? :D

Kenny,

I love the TVR shot!

Either you post-processed it, or the driver is also a good polisher

Best regards,
Andy

Thanks Ken. Shame there was too much sun. I personally like the effect of this shot, particularly the slight 'fisheye' effect given by the wide angle.

Simon.
