Looking for slaves for my Newly (Xmas Gift) 580EXII, i know i can set up my 430EX as a slave... but i was wondering if i can use any other budget flashes as wireless slaves as well?

Vivitar?
sunpak?

etc?

thanks....

I use my Sigma EF-530 DG Super only as a slave to my 580EXII. It works well in eTTL and in manual modes. And my 40D camera body can control the settings of the master AND the slave. However, this is all using the Canon wireless method which has limitations as often discussed on this forum.

In the future, I'll probably expand by getting radio triggers and cheap flashes like the Vivitar 285HV. I see you have Cybersync in your sig, so what do you prefer for wirless: eTTL flash or manual flash?

I shoot mainly sports so i use manual, never eTTL.....

Yep, I use manual flash for sports as well. But if you have no need for any eTTL capable flash, do you want to sell your 580EXII? :)
