In the first one, that is called ski jumping, isn't it? Nice shots.

Yeah, the first one looks like an olympic sport, with a grandstand full of onlookers. "Oh, I'm afraid Wilburforce caught a slight downdraft - not much chance to stick that landing. Tough break for the youngster."

I hope to soon see those buggers flying over my house NORTH, then I'll know Spring is coming!

The sea gulls have left Knoxville. I'm hearing, along with the songbirds, woodpeckers. And today I saw the first Great Blue Heron of the season (really wanted a shot, but the light was terrible, I was driving, and the moment was gone.)
