I believe you got a few goldfinches (in winter clothes or females) and that last guy looks like a robin to me, but I'm no expert :o. Nice shots!!!!

Cool shot of the kingfisher. It's hard enough to get then when they are sitting still much less in flight. Right on! the other shots are great also. I like the jumping something. Look ma! No wings!

Nice shots.

#3 looks a little funny with the bird hanging in the air like that ;)

Isn't that a hoot? It looks I like cloned out the branch! This was of course just one of those little leaps they do.. Timing was pure accident,. I think I had hit the shutter button before he started to move!!!

Adam,.
Of course that last one is a Robin! Duh.. :o I was looking at all these gross beaks and warblers in the books.. :rolleys: too funny. It's a juvenile I guess,.

Thanks guys :)

that 3rd picture is crazy. "The Matrix" kind of stuff :-P

I think the last one is a Spotted Towhee. I have to admit the first thing I thought when I saw the Matrix bird was that the branch had been cloned out. I have to admit it does give me an uneasy feeling. I just want to yell open your wings up!

"Matrix kinda stuff"

Hmmm.. a Towhee would be much more interesting than a juvy Robin ;)

Hmmm,. just looked it up,. and I think your spot on! Although,. it would be the "Eastern Towhee" given it's location in Mass.. (and actually the description and image match better)

Thanks for the ID Chris!

Oh,. Adam,. these are somtimes called "Ground Robins" in the South... so your both right! :)

Great shots CDS. Like alot of the others here I like the bird hanging in mid air. Timing is everything or sometimes luck is just on your side. In either case it is a great catch.

Is that KF from the trip we made to Parker River?

The hopping dude is pretty cool. And I'll go with the towhee - at least not a robin.

Very interesting shot. Does look "unusual." Greet captures.

Yep,. Parker River/Plum Island.. whatever it was called ;)
Remember the light was catching it so that to our naked eyes the rust color stood out so much I refused to believe it was "justa" Northern Belted Kingfisher.. You had a nice shot of him too I recall.

Very nice CDS, your mastery of "Little Birds" is awesome and I bow in your general direction . . .

Wow! Those are excellent.

Yeah, my first thought was some sort of clone job happened on #3 but then I read your explanation. I think it's my favorite shot in this series. But I also like the head tilt in #4... kinda cute.

Wonderful shots, CDS!

Love that levitating bird ... very cool. (Nice job cloning out the monofilament you used to hang him from a limb.)
