Whats up guys...

I have been doing photography for the last couple of years, mostly photojournalism and sports photography.

I however have been wanting to learn about macro photography. I actually got the Kenko extension tube set for Christmas, and I have some questions.

1. Which lens do the extension tubes go best with? I have tried it on my new 16-35, and also on my 50, and 28-135. (also see other lens in my sig.)

2. Any advice on macro photography would be very helpful.

Thanks!

I'd start just using them on the 50mm lens at or near minimum focus. Turn the AF off and focus by moving the camera - focus point roughly 2" in front of the lens. You can use either of the other lenses- the smaller the focal length the higher the magnification and the closer the focal point.

TheSportsGuy,
Like LordV I also suggest the 50mm lens with the tubes. Prime lenses usually give better results ;)

Getting enough light to the macro subject to allow hand held shots can be difficult. An external flash with an extension cord gives more possibilities and faster shutter speeds.

Cool..

Thanks for the info guys. I am still playing around with the extension tubes, and trying to get use to them.
