After arriving back from Brisbane almost 2 weeks ago, decided it was about time I start sorting through a few images. Where else to start, except the beginning?!

I'll try and post a few new shots when I have the time and patience to upload on this fast 56K.

First up, flying across from Auckland, about to cross over the Queensland coast. Beautiful clear waters, and golden sand beaches. And probably also home to thousands of sharks.

My first glimpse of Brisbane City

Where to go first, after being awake for many hours, flying, waiting over an hour for your coach, and then travelling an hour to Surfers? The beach of course. :)

Walking through Broadbeach, grabbing some food (McDonalds... oh the variety), looking at the EARLY sunset across Jupiter's Casino and Monorail

Where to go first thing the following morning, when I should be catching up on sleep?
Check out the sunrise, which I didn't think was anything special. No rocky outcrops, like Lion Rock at Piha. ;)

I'll share some more later.

Realy good photos mate. I had a stint in surfers myself. Im trying to post some of my pictures but they're a bit big. How did you reduce your file size?

The images are uploaded to my own site.
Just try and use a program like Adobe Photoshop. I'm not sure about Elements, but probably you can save jpg quality lower as well. I use Photoshop 7.

Very good shots. You always seem to do well with the beach sunsets. I'm also impressed by the ones taken through the plane's window. Looking forward to others from your trip.

Who said I was shooting those through the window? I was hanging onto the roof. :D

Anyway, here's another aerial shot

The quality is much better in these images, when not limited to 800 pixels. ;)

Argh, I see the spots have returned again. On image three, right/middle of image in the sky. :(
Many of my airliners shots have had this crap on them. I was thinking it was the 70-300mm lens, but this shot was with my 17-40L! - I guess it's on my sensor. Time for a clean.

yes very nice pics, last one is nice.

Just on the trip to Surfers, I can understand why everyone goes to Sydney, but why the hell does anyone go to surfers?? It sucks no Aussies go there unless they are going to the Theme Parks the beaches suck there(have no idea why they call it surfers paradise THE SURF SUCKS THERE! no serious surfer would go there!!) When i went to Japan every Japanese i talked to all went to Surfers and Sydney, they never heard of Melbourne (where i live) Cant blame them for not going to Melbourne that sucks too, all we get here is poms wanting to see where neighbours is filmed

A friend I met in Sydney, and some other people highly recommended NOT going to Sydney. Quite funny. It's like Wellingtonians telling people not to go to Auckland. Guess it's just jealousy all round. I've always wanted to go to Brisbane and Melbourne. But Sydney hasn't really excited me as much. Guess I'm silly.
My best mate here, is actually looking at details into Sydney in July. Not sure if I can get the time off work, or a cheap place to stay. This one will have to be on a budget, as I'm also on holiday in September travelling around the South Island. Guess I deserve the breaks, and photo opportunities. :D

well i am not bias or jelious, im from Melbourne and it sucks if you ask me (appart from AFL) Sydney is by far the best and most beautifull city in Australia i would love to live there( i know idiots who live in one city and they just bag the others, plenty people in Melb who rekon its the best and say dont bother with Sydney, but they have their hand on it)

Thing about surfers is its to commercialised , try hard florida or something, all show and no go.. If you like that sort of thing thats the place to be, but surfers has no substance or culture, its like a city with a inferior complex "saying look at me"

Its just that people might think its a great beach and a true surfers paradise but the beach is crap, what i mean by that is there are heaps better beaches in Australia (not many as commercialised as surfers) I mean why do you think the world surfing comp is held at Belles Beach?? Infact i think the best beaches in Australia are in Western Australia right up untill Broome and beyond, but even not may Australians have been to these beaches
