I'm still waiting for my local shop to get the Canon one. I tried the G9 case but it's a little too small.

Have you looked at the Lowepro offerings?
If you go to their website and then Support, they have a matrix to see which ones fit. I have had very good experience with Lowepro cases.

Best Lowepro-esque case for them is the Crumpler Bundle M. Better fit and build than anything Lowepro do at that size. Either that or the proper canon case.

I use a Lowepro Apex 60 AW. It won't hold a charger but it will hold your cards and an extra battery. It has a little pullover raincover that is stowed neatly in the back and can be worn over your shoulder or clipped through your belt. I really like this little guy. :)

That leather Canon case will surely appeal to those who carried SLR's back in the 70's. Personally, I'll take something with a pocket to stow an extra battery and sim card. :)

i agree. that leather case seems pretty useless to me. it looks nice...
but no pockets, no belt loop, no strap? all it really does is make the
camera more bulky and takes up the tripod mount

Actually the version of the Canon leather case I got (Canon G Series II Leather Case for the G10, G9, G7) has a belt loop on the back, comes with a strap, and has a pocket for an extra SD card inside the main flap.

Hi,
I bought the Lowepro Edit 100 for my G10. Nice snug fit, padded on all sides, Velcro flap cover, zippered top, handle, neck strap, Velcro belt loop, two side pockets (spare battery and/or cards and/or case neck strap when wearing it on your belt), and a front zippered pocket. Paid $19.99 at Best Buy. 4.5" x 3.5" x 6.5" Here is a link:

I just picked up a Tamrac 5292 (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/488161-REG/Tamrac_529201_5292_T92_Camera_Bag.html) for my G9 I just got. Found it at a local store, and it’s perfect for me. Besides the clip you see in the photo, the flap is also held on with velcro for those times you want fast access to the camera, and not have to deal with the clip. Never held a G10, but I’m guessing it will fit this bag. There is extra room with the G9 in there, but not too much.

I had the same problem looking for the best case for my new G10. I like the look of the retro leather ones (in red) but the cost is too high. I settled on ordering a Tamrac 5694 Digital 4. Still waiting for delivery. Hope its not too big; but I wanted some extra space.

I'm using the LowePro Apex 100AW.
The camera fits in great and there is extra space for the charger, extra battery and USB cable. The is also a small memory card pocket. The case is all-weather and includes a "tuck-away" rain cover. The case includes a shoulder strap and waist belt loop - your choice. We spent two weeks hiking in Glacier National Park in September and I had the case on my waist belt most of the time. Worked great.
Great functional small case.

I found the perfect Case for the G10. It is the LowePro Apex PV AW. The size is absolutely fantastic. The G10 fits perfectly in it and it is super easy to take out, yet small enough to wear on a belt.
It is smaller than the Apex 60 or 100 and IMO way better for storing the camera. You still have room for a battery and memory card.
The dimensions are 3.9W X 2.3D X 6.6H in.
Apex 60 dimensions are - 4.4W X 3.1D X 5.4H in
Apex 100 dimensions are - 5.1W X 4.5D X 6.3H in
IMO Lowepro needs to really show this product off more for the G10. It was designed for photo viewer or similarly sized digital storage device, memory card and additional batteries.

I was able to get the Canon leather case on redemption even after getting a good deal in the first place from Ted's (Australia). It works well, quick to open/close,good protection, like the "old" ever-ready cases from years ago. I carry cards, spare battery and odds in a small Lowepro on my belt. It works for me.

I've been using a Denali Mini Photo Traveler case for my G-9- The G-10 might fit also. I got it at Target for $8. It has a small exterior pocket where I keep an extra battery, SD card and mini tripod. It's about the size of the Tamrac bag mentioned earlier. For those trips where I want to take my external flash or wide-angle converter, I have a Domke F-3 on order.

Seriously though, I have a Lowepro Ridge 30 that I bought for my G9. It fit the G9 perfectly. The G10 would barely squeeze in, but it did fit. However now that I have a ReallyRightStuff L bracket mounted to the G10 there's no way it's going into the Ridge 30, so yes, for right now it's the hiking sock.

Well, I know this isn't the kind of case you can strap on your belt or even carry around with you everywhere conveniently, but if your looking for a VERY tough, waterproof, crushproof, air-tight case for your camera or equiptment then this company makes some TOUGH cases made of an ABS polycarbonate (unbelievably tough)...I have a couple of them, and they are high quality and priced right. These are rock solid and built like tanks...and made in USA. Like I said, may not be for everyone, but if your transporting your camera/equipment through some rugged conditions then these are the shiznit.

I paid $6.97 at Walmart for this Case Logic Medium Camera Case. The only color they had in stock was Mossy Oak camo with bright orange interior. They make them in several colors including black. It fits the G10 well, a little on the small end, I wish it was 1/4" taller, but it works. The mouth is large enough that the G10 goes in and out easy enough without scratching. Comes with a shoulder strap, sturdy belt loop, and several compartments. The other compartments will hold a battery and card but not the charger. Seems well made, great deal for the price! Target retail stores carry them too, according to Target's web site.

I have the LowePro Orion for my newly purchased G10, see it here:
products.lowepro.com/product/Orion,1986,7.htm
Pros: Did not have to purchase a new case for the G10 since I had the Orion for SLR's I owned; Stay's snug against the body and well padded which is good for me since I am active and outdoors; has repositionable dividers so case can be configured for specific needs; has plenty of extra space for not only G10 accessories, but other stuff as well; has tripod straps underneath to carry a small tripod.. very handy.
Con: Although it works well for me, the larger than needed size for a compact camera, makes it somewhat of an overkill.

I mentioned this case back on page one. I use it with a G9, but I figured it would work with a G10. Looking at this thread earlier today, and being a rainy day, I took some photos. To me, the neck strap is in the way, and a case like this one makes a neck strap unnecessary.

thanks for the shots, I agree the brown has a richer look to it, I might have been too quick to pull the trigger on the black one but I like it too. Just got the camera today. first impressions:
too many menu layers. Or maybe I am just too used to being able to find my way through any of the current DSLR menu styles because they are all very similar and find the g10 a little cumbersome because it is so different.
I like that all of the stuff I will need to shoot in M mode or Av is on a knob or speed dial, I can see that for most of the shooting I will do it will be easy to find what I want.
Why can't canon spring for a memory card?
I have to work tomorrow, then class afterwork, I might be able to get out and do some shooting friday, can't wait. Thanks again for the pictures.

I too was looking for a case for my Canon G10, mainly to carry in my backpack. After many hours of web surfing and reviews, I FINALLY got the Kata KT DP-415 at Amazon for $13.99 shipped. I've been using it for about a week now and have NO regrets.:D
The Kata is a perfect fit for the Canon G10 and will comfortable hold the camera, extra SD memory card (in the provided pouch), and the included protective weather cover. I've also tried it with and extra battery fits pretty well.
As for as design i think Kata did a really great job. The fabric used on the exterior is top notch and feels very high in quality. The interior is lined with a microfiber-like material and is very soft to the touch. The divider in the middle is a excellent idea for separating the camera from the accessories without adding a extra zippered compartment. I haven't tried the weather cover yet but the time comes for me to use it I'm pretty sure it will get the job done.
If you're still deciding on a camera case/bag for your Canon G10, I highly recommend the Kata. The deciding factor for me was this tread (pics included): http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=646412&highlight=kata. thanks.

For my three previous ultra compact digital cameras, I used very lightweight hard plastic product containers that have been slightly larger than the size of the camera. For small cameras, a small case is important, especially so it can fit in pockets. All the usual foam or leather cases are too large or provide little impact protection. A simple plastic bottle at the right size is lighter, smaller, and more protective. One can cut the lid opening so the camera only readily fits through when it is slightly squeezed. Thus a few years ago for my first digi camera the DimageX, I used a Menen Skin Bracer bottle (well after emptying the fluid haha). Look in all manner of drug stores, hardware store, auto parts stores etc. Been looking for the right container for my new G10 but haven't found it yet. This larger camera is a hard fit at 1.8x3.2x4.5 inches.

I happened upon this Nat geo bag on amazon, it's a great, well made bag that i find easy to carry. It also has a large extra pocket for spare batteries etc.

I have the NG1152 and love it. Plenty of room for extra disks and batteries.

I took a look at the NG1152 and it looks like a nice case. I'm thinking of getting one from B & H tomorrow. Thanks for pointing it out to me, just ordered my G10 and it should arrive Tuesday and I want to case to protect it.

I have been searching for the last 3 weeks for the perfect case for my G10. I want a small zippered, stretchy neoprene case that fits my G10. I don't want extra room for cards or batteries, just a minimal case to put my camera in so I can put it in my purse. I cannot seem to find exactly what I want. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I like the minimal one in jaydub's link, however it may be slightly small. That page showed the internal dimensions to be:
Zoom (41) 4.5" 3" 1.5"
I made my own minimal size case recently out of 1/10 inch thick balsa wood sheets and closely measured G10 dimensions to be 4.4x3.2x1.8 inches. Thus the main issue with jaydub's link would be the depth. One of the main reasons for buying the G10 and not a small DSLR was that I wanted a camera that while maybe not ultracompact shirt pocket size was still small enough to still fit into at least usual coat pockets.
One can buy a sheet of balsa at any hobby supply that will make a case for less than $3. With basswood that is a bit heavier, 1/8 thickness would allow a smaller case with more strength. It will be a hard case that can fit into larger pockets that will be more protective than any of the soft cases. Besides pocket duty, I will want to toss the case loosely into my daypack or fanny pack that has additional gear inside and don't want it crushed or the lcd scratched. Once one cuts the case panels, gluing them with wood glue is trivial. Inside my case is 1/8 inch thick foam that also covers the top side as a dust flap. The G10 has strap handles insertion bars at each side that stick out slightly more than the flat sides. Thus I made my internal width dimension with the foam installed slightly smaller than that dimension. Thus the camera must be pushed in with minor force to compress and snug against the foam. Once snugged inside, it won't come out if upsidedown as it only comes out if I gently pull on the straps. And I replaced the humungo leather neck strap in the box with my own minimal straps with small clips on each end that I can quickly remove for tripod work.

I wouldn't buy from this guy, he offers no insurance and responsibility for lost or damaged items. Sounds sketchy to me.

yeah it looks like it's JUST large enough for the camera. I needed a little more space for a battery and an extra SD card.

Another vote for the Tamrac 5692. The front pocket is the perfect size to hold the new, very compact SunPak RD200 flash with the foot rotated inside.

Is anyone using a lensmate adapter? I'd like to find the smallest case that the G10 would fit in with that adapter on it? I like the looks of some of the small cases like the Kata 415 and lowpro apex 60, etc but am not sure how much more room would be needed with this adapter.
Thanks!

I found a great case for my G10 from Optech. It is the D-mini http://www.optechusa.com/product/detail/?PRODUCT_ID=32&PRODUCT_SUB_ID=. I was looking for a case for my camera that I could just put it in my purse without any extra bulk from other camera cases & inexpensive. I could not find the case anywhere online so contacted Optech by email. They are the best. They answered all my emails the same day. I could not find the case because it is a new item & not all retailers are carrying it yet. They recommended me to one online retailer that did have it in stock, but the online retailer wanted a fortune for shipping. So, Optech arranged with me to send me one out for actual shipping charges. I ordered it this past Friday & received it today. It cost $24.90 shipped. It's great! It snaps at the bottom & has a clip that clips to your camera strap so that you don't have to put away the case before shooting. Here are some pics. Excuse the quality as they are from my cell phone. Oh, and the material is very stretchy, so there is room for extra memory cards or maybe eve a battery.

Has anyone here tried the TerraClime series by Lowerpro? I'm going to be overseas in May to Israel...where it'll just be Dry and Sunny. Need something quick and easy to sit on my belt when I am doing my touring. I know in terms of protection, it may not be the best, but in terms of style and form, I like what that case is offering. Any insight?

After a lot of looking, I finally found the perfect case for my G10 - Jessops own brand "Centon" D-Trek HP 20. The camera fits perfectly, the case is a hard body type and is very well made. There is a small area for an extra card and a very good belt loop too. Total cost £4.97! Apologies if this has already been mentioned, I had a quick look but didnt see it. :)
