View Full Version : WORLDWIDE PHOTO WEEK: PART 145 -- Curves and/or Windows
BLS
29th of December 2008 (Mon), 08:47
Every week we select a new theme to shoot. We have two themes this week: "Curves" and/or "Windows." Shoot one or both themes, your choice. Be as imaginative/creative as you like when interpreting the theme -- the sky's the limit!
Here are the rules:
1. Shots need to be taken between sunrise Monday and sunset the following Sunday. Because this activity is supposed to encourage us to get out and shoot, please don't post old shots from your archives. Snap shots and art are equally welcome -- just get out & shoot, and then share!
2. Post your shots at any time during the week.
3. Post a maximum of two shots if you're uploading them to POTN (i.e., attaching them). You can post more than two if you're linking to shots that are not hosted by POTN (i.e.,embedding them), but keep within POTN rules. Also keep within POTN rules about size. A copy of the size rules can be found here: http://photography-on-the.net/forum/...d.php?t=194511 (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=194511)
An index to previous weeks can be found here: http://photography-on-the.net/forum/...d.php?t=170603 (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=170603)
That's it! Have fun!

Haven't been out shooting since around September due to moving and new job, but felt the urge to go wandering today with the theme in mind.

Hey, Dave, nice to see you again!
John and Crissa -- I'm still trying to identify your shots. :-D;)
As for me, I'm lazy this week. Might not shoot. But I do have a few ideas.

This window was a tank with critters in it, but I like the effect

Thanks John! At this museum they use found items to build all sorts of things. This is simply a "half wall" separation between two rooms, and it butts up to a wall made of empty bottles. We were trying to figure out what those spool shaped pieces are...no idea!

Alright, I have been absent for a while due to moving, but I managed to get this one yesterday while a friend and I were out and about. What a fun day! Started the day at sunrise in St. Augustine, FL and made our way back to Orlando throughout the day.
This shot was taken inside the Ponce de Leon Lighthouse. For some stupid reason, I decided that I was going to climb all the way to the top of the thing...and then leaned over the rail to take this shot (did I mention that I am afraid of heights and have a REALLY bad knee). I am paying the price for this one LoL.

Love this shot! I have bad knees too, and a couple of years younger I have climbed similar lighthouses. On this one, I love the mostly black and white with the small yellow square right in the center.

I'm a little late but better late than never.
Went out Saturday with my new 40D and got some shots of Griffintown a section of Montreal that is to be re-developed.
Lots of interesting buildings.
Here are a couple of windows.
A deserted building that used to be a Blacksmit/machinist
