Tonight I shot Swedish rock supremos The Hives at The Forum on their first show of an Australian tour. The full set of photos can be seen here (http://blackshadow.smugmug.com/gallery/6949902_FGSDf/1/444785384_RLoX8). Their frontman Howlin' Pelle Armquist certainly puts on one helluva show and is a great subject to shoot.
C&C encouraged.

Absolutely great set. I love #4.
I'd choose 7 over 1 I think. Not sure though
#8 is weaker then the rest: Just okay.
Some images I'd crop a bit, but that's about all there is to nit-pick.

Thanks for the comments - they were an incredibly easy band to shoot - great performance under excellent lighting - if you get the chance to shoot them do it.
I'm leaning toward #7 as a jump shot. I also quite like this one.

I agree. I shot them in San Diego at Street Scene in September and they put on an amazing show. Great shots.

looking forward to shooting these guys @ The Metro in a weeks time (put on a great show at BDO few years back)
while I love the fact they have no problem with using clear fronts, was there much gel'd backlighting at all?
only downside is the lack of room in the venue, seems like The Forum was the same? maybe about 1m between the stage/barricade
hopefully I nail a wide jump shot :)

i wonder how the other 'togs shots came out in #4 (which is also excellent).

Thanks Tim. I don't think the togs in shot would have got the crowd interaction in their pics.

Lighting seems to be cool, but boring. Too bad you've got exactly the same lighting on all of your photos. Seems to be a wonderful band to shoot.

I started to note my favorite shots and then realized it would be easier to note the ones I didnt enjoy. Lol.
#2 is my least favorite, just looks like hes in a black hole with a spotlight on him.
Rest are fantastic.
