I seem to remember about 2 months back someone suggest using an old FD or zeiss lens with a conversion adapter as a means to get Av mode in video on the 5dm2.

I'd be really interested in doing this if it works! Has anyone tried it yet?

I've been shooting some video on my friends 5dii with an m42 mount lens (manual everything) Having manual aperture control in video is amazingly cool.

Check it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Id-1Oh-ssRg&fmt=22
I used a 135mm f/2.8 for every shot but the last one.

Wow... that's great news... so next question for the uninitiated. What's the cheapest I could try this and still have a lens worth owning?

That 135 cost $18.50 plus $8.95 shipping.

I'll be trying my $15 28m f/2.8 for video tomorrow, I'll let you know how that goes.
