They seem to like this lens. Has anyone here used it?

The article is in the hard copy only I think.

12-24 mm f4. $499. 12-24 Seems like a nice focal length range on a 1.6 dslr

If you read this thread (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=61669&highlight=popular), apparently Pop Photo gives positive reviews to everything ;)

Well that is certainly true!

Doesn't change my interst in the Tokina though,.. The Sigma is actually over $800.00... so this is a huge price differnce,.

But I just saw why.. the Tokina is "EF-S" -like ,.. only works with 1.5X or smaller sensors,. so it will be lighter and have a lot less glass than the full frame Sigma.

Tamron has an 11-??mm zoom out now too... about $600.00...

The price is definitely decent, but don't forget this is one of the EF-Sish type lenses, while the Sigma 12-24mm is the only zoom that wide that can be used on larger than a 1.5x sensor. If that's what you're looking for, the Canon 10-22mm can be purchased from Dell every 2 weeks or so for $600-$650 lately, only $100 more, and Tamron's 11-18mm should be out soon which I'm guessing will be around $400 or so.

Search the forum. There was someone not that long ago who said they had the Tokina 12-24mm already and had a few comments regarding it being soft at f/4.

CDS, you beat me to it. :)
